Layer Styles/Layer Effects are special options we can use to create drop shadows, neon glow and embossing that can be specific to each layer. We can also copy one layer style to apply to other layers.
We will work with examples where results are better on light and dark backgrounds.
Task:
Create effective examples of Layer Styles using Outer Glow, Pattern Overlay, Stroke Overlay and Drop Shadow.
Process:
- Watch Demo Videos
- Create a file that is 8.5×11 at 72ppi. We will do everything in this one file. Using multiple layers.
- Play around with Layer Styles using black or white backgrounds. “Glows” work best on black background.
