Vector vs Raster. Remember this discussion? This is the main difference between Illustrator and Photoshop. There are Vector Tools present in Photoshop that we will practice using. Everything you remember regarding making shapes in Illustrator still apply: Fill, Stroke. Let’s take a look.
We will also augment our vector shapes with layer masks to add Atmospheric Perspective. This will help add some realism to our compositions.
Task:
Create a composition that uses our planetary building and vector shapes that exhibit Atmospheric Perspective.
Process:
- Watch YouTube video
- Create 8.5×11″ canvas
- Create planet or planets and Vector shapes.
- Show Vector shapes that are layered in front of and behind planet bodies. (Like the example below with yellow lines)
- Show Vector shapes that go around the planets, like the red rectilinear shapes below.
- Show Vector shapes that sweep through space on a trajectory. Maybe include a spaceship. Be creative.
- Save
- Screenshots to blog.
- PSd files to G-Drive.
